Cyanine5 azide标记试剂用于点击化学，有10mM 溶解于DMSO和粉剂两种形式选择。
该叠氮类染料溶于有机溶剂（如DMSO，DMF），所以标记反应需要有少量有机共溶剂的存在。该染料可用于在水和有机溶剂的混合物中标记炔烃修饰的生物分子。溶解在DMSO中的溶液形式是用于这种生物偶联的即用溶液。水溶的该染料产品：Sulfo-Cyanine5 azide。
Cyanine5是Cy5®的类似物，*广泛使用的荧光素之一，能与多种仪器相兼容。Cyanine5可以替代Alexa Fluor 647和DyLight 649。
